Project:
Working from a still-life assemblage, provided in class, create a dynamic painting that includes: variety of shapes and lines, variety of texture, and variety of light and dark. Select an area of the still-life, do not try and render the entire assemblage.
Size: 16” x 20”
Medium: Oil paint on canvas
Grading Criteria:
- Does the composition include a variety of shapes and lines?
- How effectively has the student manipulated and controlled the medium (craftmanship)?
- Has color been used effectively to focus attention and create a maximum sense of depth?
- Has color been used effectively to create a sense of volume and mass?
