Printmaking project: 

Combine images, which will be provided in class, and produce a cohesive composition (montage) that will form the basis for a series of prints (intaglio and relief). 

Produce two, or perhaps three, finished prints: 

1. Intaglio print (lower surface only / try multiple colors)
2. Relief print (upper surface only / try multiple colors)
3. Optional: mono-print (apply ink to a flat plate and draw into the ink to produce a unique print)

Size: 8” x 10” (Intaglio print)
Size: 6” x 9” (Relief print / linoleum process)

Grading Criteria: 

• Is the overall design inventive and cohesive (not disjointed or stylized)?
• How effectively has the student manipulated and controlled the medium (craftsmanship)?
• Is there variety in the composition?
• Has color been effectively used to focus attention and create a maximum sense of depth in the compostion?
