Austin’s (best man) toast:

I propose a toast to Layton and Scottie - two of the luckiest people I know. To have found true love once and to have successfully crafted that love into a long and beautiful relationship is truly miraculous. To lose such a love is often more than most of us can bear. Scottie and Layton have dared to AGAIN love deeply and in so doing experience extreme joy and profound love. To have found each other at this transition time in each other's lives is a wondrous and thankful gift. I sincerely believe that Terry and Patti are among us now rejoicing in the love and warmth that has replaced the pain and grief associated with their early departures. So let us rejoice and celebrate together the miraculous gift of love and the expanding community of family and friends that is the result of love. Thank you Scottie and thank you dad for bringing such love into all of our lives and for sharing this special day.
