More shots from the BIG island of Hawaii

The island of Hawaii is the largest in the chain of islands that make up the state of Hawaii. All the other islands could fit within the boarders of the BIG island!

Lava flowing into the sea from Kilauea.

Thurston lava tube. Lava flows through such tubes on its way from the magma core.

Another shot from deeper inside the Thurston lava tube. It travels along for about fifty yards.
Fortunately, I didn't see any lava coming my way!

Lava flowed over the road here in 1995! Visitors must now walk, on top of the lava,
to the ocean overlook at Lae Apuki.

Slow cooled lava lines the shore, also notice the different colors of the water.
Large sections of lava drop into the sea and create shelves.

Looking down into the Kilauea crater, an awesome sight from any angle!

Notice the hills in the background. Lava flows down the hillside on its' way
to the ocean, which was located directly behind me.
