Austin Zimmer is headed back to Tonga this summer (August 5th - 24th) -- stay tuned for additional pictures and updates. Austin will likely present a series of web commerce workshops in conjunction with his second trip back to Tonga. Sally, Austin's sister, plans to join the trip with two photography students from Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut. The group is planning on spending a majority of their time in the upper island group of Vava'u. Check out a map of Tonga.

Thanks to a contact I met on the Internet (pictured on the right in blue jeans - Sione Hoko) I was able to quickly locate a number of highly talented local artisans. Sione's help throughout the entire project was invaluable.
I am interested in helping Tongan artists market their work on the Internet. I plan to have a second talk with KaliaNet (http://www.kalianet.to/) and various artist cooperatives while in Tonga this summer. Please contact me if you are interested in the project and know of specific people to contact in Tonga.
