Materials List

The materials cost for Mr. Zimmer's photography course will be approximately $85. Landon School will provide a camera (Pentax ZX-M) and all darkroom supplies.

Preferred local vendors: Penn camera in Rockville (directions to Penn) or in Tyson's Corner Mall provides excellent pricing and selection. There is also a camera store located in Bethesda, The Photography Center of Bethesda (8216 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, MD 20814, 301-986-1829 -- click here for directions) that provides superb service and selection. Please mention that you are a Landon student and be prepared to show your student ID to receive a discount.

Materials can be picked up in person or ordered online and delivered:

Photography Center of Bethesda -- highly recommended vendor -- feel free to place your order online and/or call to add or subtract items from your order. The owners names are Gerard and Penny Garcia, great folks!
Penn Camera's online store (Link4PC is Penn's online retail division) -- Penn Camera has retail stores in Rockville and Tysons Corner.

PLEASE NOTE: due to the sensitive nature of photographic materials, all sales are final! Do not attempt to return unused supplies. Feel free to use the darkroom and unused supplies after the class is complete.

Film:

1. Purchase four rolls of black and white film:

Kodak T-Max 100 ASA 24 exposure

Paper:

1. Purchase one box (100 sheets -- 8" x 10" size paper) of Ilford photographic paper:

Ilford Multigrade IV RC deluxe rapid paper *

* The paper is available in a variety of surfaces: pearl (semi-gloss), glossy brilliant (high gloss/ high contrast), and satin (matt finish) -- Mr. Zimmer's favorite is satin finish, but any finish is acceptable.

2. Color slide processing (Landon will absorb the cost of processing slide film):

Landon will provide: process for color slides, sample photo. paper and film, all chemicals and digital printing paper.
